Notes
Cocu is the 100% Cinsault of Château Qanafar, this wine stands alone on its typicity from the Cinsault grape. Cinsault is said to be one of the older grape varieties from (present-day) Lebanon, which is often labeled as the pinot noir of the South. Wine historians do not yet agree, but there are even indications that Cinsault has its origins in the Middle East... Enjoy with fine and soft dishes, even with fried/grilled fish and shellfish this wine can be particularly interesting.
- Aromas and Tasting Notes: Cinsault wines typically exhibit vibrant aromas of red berries like strawberries, raspberries, and cherries, often complemented by floral notes such as roses and violets. Some wines also reveal hints of spice and minerality
- Body and Tannins: Cinsault generally produces light to medium-bodied wines with low tannins and moderate acidity, making them very drinkable and refreshingThe lower tannin levels allow the fruit flavors to shine, making it similar in character to Pinot Noir
